The plant incorporates acid descaling for laser cut products, a unique space saving walking beam stoving oven arrangement. They also incorporated a zinc phosphate tank with agitation and filtration. Pretreatment Plant – The Capabilities
The new system is capable of coating products up to, and including, 2000mm long x 1,500mm high x 1,000mm wide. It was split into three separate processes:
- Pretreatment plant with 14 separate dip processes
- Electrophoretic coating, which consisted of a further four stages, one e-coat and three UF rinses
- Stoving – The flight bar is then transferred to the oven by the transporter system. The walking beam mechanism indexes the products through the stoving oven for a minimum of 30 minutes.
Included within the scope of supply for this system were cleaning tanks, pickling tanks and rinses. The system, where appropriate, utilises gas or electric heating, as well as lip extraction for high-temperature tanks. This helps to ensure a safe working environment for employees. The automated transporter system with PLC/HMI controls, transfers the workload flight bar from the pre-treatment line, onto the electrophoretic coating line. It will then deposit it into the stoving oven.
Efficient and Environmentally Conscious
To improve the process and save water, the system was supplied with a new R.O unit for demineralized water, water counterflow and recycling system. As well as a pH correction system for overflow to drain.
All equipment is designed using the latest CAD technology, by our amazing team of in-house engineers.
